Q: Can I walk-in or do I need a reservation?
A: You may go into the store as a walk-in. They may be able to take you provided they have the availability, but we cannot guarantee that you will be taken. We do recommend reservations.
Q: I forgot to cancel my reservation. Do I get penalized for this?
A: You will receive a courtesy call the 1st time you miss your reservation. On your 2nd missed reservation you'll be notified about our No Show policy. Guests with 3 or more no shows in a 6 month period may be restricted from booking reservations over the phone and be placed as a 'walk in only' guest; meaning they need to book their reservation directly at the store when they're ready to be serviced. We'd prefer for all guests to have the opportunity to book over the phone and ask that you call, even last minute, to cancel a reservation.
Q: How old do you have to be to wax?
A: We will wax at any age provided the guest is prepared for the experience. If the guest is crying or apprehensive for any reason, European Wax Center will not wax them. .
Q: I'm running late for my reservation. Will you still take me?
A: We have a 10 minute late policy. If you are more than 9 minutes late for your reservation you will be marked as a no-show and we may have to reschedule all or part of your services. We ask that you call and let us know when you are running late so we can best accomodate you.
Waxing Services
Q: How long does the hair have to be?
A: About 1/4 inch, just long enough for the wax to grab the hair.
Q: Do I have to prepare before waxing?
A: No, our Wax Specilists will take care of everything and walk you through the process. We just ask that you arrive on time.
Q: How long does the wax last?
A: Usually your wax will last between 3-4 weeks but everyones rate of regrowth is different; results will vary between guests.
Q: Does waxing hurt?
A: It depends on your tolerance for discomfort. Try to keep in mind that you are removing the hair from the root, but our Wax Specialist will make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
Q: What kind of wax product do you use?
A: We use a hard strip less wax made exclusively for European Wax Center. Your service will also include our 4 step process. First, we cleanse the area to remove any make up, oils or lotions that may prevent the quality of your wax from taking place. Once we have a clean pallet, we protect the skin with our soothing pre-depilatory oil. Next, we perform the wax treatment. Finally, we rejuvinate the area by applying either our EWC Ingrown Hair Serum or our Slow It Body Lotion, depending on the area being waxed.
NOTE: Both the EWC Ingrown Hair Serum and our EWC Slow IT Body Lotion are available for sale at all of our locations.
Q: Who will be waxing me?
A: All of our Wax Specialists are licensed estheticians. They are also required to successfully complete our in-house training program to ensure the same level of excellence from once waxer to another.
Can I still wax if...?
Q: Can I wax if I have my period?
A: We will wax you if you have your period. However, the area is more sensitive and you may experience more discomfort than usual.
Q: Can I still wax if I'm pregnant?
A: Yes. However, you may experience more skin sensitivity due to the hormonal changes your body is going through. Our Wax Specialists will make you as comfortable as possible during the service. We recommend checking with your doctor during the last two months of pregnancy.
Q: Can I still wax if I tanned the day before?
A: We recommend waiting at least 24-48 hours between waxing and tanning because your skin may be more sensitive. Because waxing exfoliates the skin by removing the top layer of dead surface skin cells, you're more likely to receive a sunburn. If you are going to go in the sun within 48 hours of waxing, we recommend wearing a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more.
Q: Can I still wax if I have a sunburn?
A: We will not perform services on sunburned skin or skin that is irritated or unhealthy. When your skin has healed you can call to book a reservation for services.
Q: Can I still wax if I just received a facial service?
A: You can still wax if you received a basic facial that includes a cleanse, steam, exfoliation and mask. If you received a specialty facial that includes, but is not limited to, an alpha (AHA) or beta (BHA) hydroxy peel, microdermabrasion, or any other deep exfoliation treatment, then you need to wait at least 7 days to receive a wax service. You should check with your doctor to ensure it's ok for you to wax after having any medical grade facial treatment.
Q: Can I still wax if I'm on medication?
A: It's always best to refer to your doctor if you have any questions. For prescribed creams such as Retin-A or Differin, we advise that you stop use 7 days prior to your wax reservation and do not resume use until 7 days after your wax service. We will not wax you if you are on Accutane. It's very dangerous to wax while on Accutane and a doctor's note will be needed to receive services.
Note: It's important that you inform or update our Guest Service Coordinators on what medications you may be taking so we can ultimately provide you with a safe waxing experience.
Products
Q: What can I use at home to optimize my waxing experience?
A: The waxing service is only the beginning to keeping your newly waxed skin smooth and sexy! To maintain these fabulous results it's important to use our entire line of film free products. Try our daily EWC Ingrown Hair Serum, twice a day, which will help slough away dead surface skin cells to allow your hair to grow back in without obstruction; trapped hair can lead to ingrown hairs and irritation that causes itchiness and bumps. Next, wash daily with our EWC Daily Exfoliating Body Wash to keep your skin film free and renewed. Then smooth on our Slow Grow Body Lotion which consists of special plant enzymes that soften and decrease the hair length and density, allowing for softer and thinner hair growth. Finally, once a week you can use our Post Wax Exfoliate that will help keep your skin refined and polished. Using our entire product line will allow your waxing results to last longer and will help make your subsequent reservations painless!
Q: Where can I get your products?
A: Our products can be purchased at any European Wax Center nationwide! In the near future you will be able to order products through our website using our 'Shopping Cart' feature.
